Known mainly for his eccentric banjo, acoustic guitar & fiddle playing whilst simultaneously singing & tap dancing, Stompin' Dave's excellent electric guitar & piano playing, band leading, & song writing is highlighted in this new band.  Dave has previously fronted his own blues bands Dablues, & Dr. Stomp & The G.P.'s.  Back in 2000 Dave gained valuable experience as a sideman with Bournemouth based band The Producers. Dave's latest blues project Stompin' Dave's Electric Band began in the autumn of 2007.  The band has completed it's first album Original Blues, available now. A new CD more Original Blues is completed and due out soon.

Accompanying Dave on the new disc are the vastly experienced Graham V. Bundy, & Dave Saunders. Graham V. Bundy worked as a professional drummer in the USA. for 20 years. Graham performed with rockabilly luminaries such as Nashville Star's Jody Evans, Rockabilly Hall Of Fame members Dale Hawkins(author of swamp-rock classic Susie Q.) &Billy Lee Riley. Graham has recorded at the legendary Sun Studios in Memphis. Dave Saunders is on bass, a founder member of award winning blues band The Producers, half of acoustic duo Harry Skinner & Dave Saunders. "Did You Ever?" Named lemonrock.com MP3 of the week Jan 2008.

Lemonrock review of Did You Ever? track, Jan 08: "Stompin' Dave's Electric Band is a brand new project from Stompin' Dave Allen. Known mainly for his eccentric banjo, acoustic guitar and fiddle playing whilst simultaneously singing and tap dancing, Stompin' Dave's excellent electric guitar playing, band leading and songwriting is highlighted in this new band. This is a hugely riff-driven rock blues tune that will be sure to blow those New Year clouds away! Well recorded, deftly played and delivered right between the eyes, we recommend playing it rather loud."

Blues In The South, review of Original Blues CD, Apr 08:  The CD ‘Original Blues’ is pure 21st Century. With band, Dave Saunders on bass and Graham V. Bundy on drums, Allen here on guitar and vocals (and with a nice pic of his beloved white Washburn on the CD case) lays down some seriously modern grooves with feedback, stunning foot-pedal dynamics and so on. All original, as the title implies, the music ranges from a John Lee Hookerish ‘Boogie Town’ through the rocker ‘Survival’ to out-and-out lowdown blues like ‘Aint No Reason’(Shades of EC and Freddie King) and ‘I Feel A Little Better Now'. Wonderful! Ian McKenzie

Blues In Britain Review, review of Original Blues CD, July 08:  Dave and his electric guitar are joined by the well-known veteran of the south coast blues scene and founder member of The Producers (coincidentally a former band of Mr. Allen) Dave Saunders on bass and the vastly experienced Graham V. Bundy on drums. The electric set is raw and direct, no frills blues, with elements of the currently popular droning Mississippi hill country style in places, through a slow blues reminiscent of early Eric Clapton or Freddy King and up tempo rocking items and then on to some riff-driven pile-driving blues-rock, augmented by Dave’s ferocious vocals (he is slightly less fierce elsewhere). The tightly coiled 'I Feel A Little Better' brought Hound Dog Taylor to mind, which is always a winner in my book. Well worth investigating.  Rating: 8 - Norman Darwen
