Seven Drunken Nights

As I went home on Monday night as drunk as drunk could be

I saw a horse outside the door where my old horse should be

I called my wife and I said to her will you kindly tell to me

Who owns that horse outside the door where my old horse should be

Your drunk your drunk you silly old fool still you cannot see

That's a lovely sow that me mother sent to me

Well it's a many a day I've travelled a hundred miles or more

But a saddle on a sow I've never seen before

As I went home on Tuesday night as drunk as drunk could be

I saw a coat behind the door where my old coat should be

I called my wife and I said to her will you kindly tell to me

Who owns coat behind the door where my old coat should be

Your drunk......That's a woolen blanket...But buttons on a blanket I never saw before

...Wednesday night...A pipe upon the chair.......That's a lovely tin whistle...

Tobacco in a tin whistle I never saw before

...Thursday night...two boots beneath the bed...Two lovely geranium pots...

Laces in geranium pots I never saw before

...Friday night....A head upon the bed......That's a baby boy

Baby boy with whiskers on I never saw before
